I really really really hate summer.

The thing that stands out the most is the way our bodies work - you can only get to a certain degree of 'coolness', but if you need to warm up it's so easy!!!! If only we were like lizards and frogs....just kidding. I guess it's probably a handy trait to be able to generate your own heat, but in summer it really sucks!!!

And then you get all the creepy-crawlies deciding that they want to be nice and active now that the temperature suits them - especially the hairy, multi-leg and eye variety!!!!!! It's just not on.

I also really hate burning my hands on my steering wheel and gear stick every afternoon when it's time to go home from work.

The ONLY good thing about summer, well okay, there's two things, is that the days are nice and long and you can stay up later doing stuff (though is that actually good?!?), and you can really really enjoy a lovely bowl of freezing cold ice-cream. Ahhhhh ice-cream!!! And going to the beach is really good too, except for all the other people and the afore-mentioned creepy-crawlies.

Now let me talk about winter....winter foods, winter clothes, winter activities, hooray!!!!! And 'cause the days are shorter, you don't feel so bad about going to bed at 8 o'clock in the evening......

I just can't wait for winter.

Roses

Hooray!!! I finally got my 1st anniversary present!!! I looooove Swarovski crystal and my gorgeous husband bought me that beautiful rose figurine. The stems of the roses are actually silver (I guess they would break if they were crystal!) and it is just beautiful. My other piece is a crystal rose which I might upload later!   : D

One day I hope to have a big collection of sparkly pretty things (maybe I was a bird in another life??)!

Well it actually happened - the person I voted for won!!!!

I think Kruddy will make a great PM and if he doesn't, well, we'll just kick him out next election.

I can't wait to see what he does and what changes he makes to stuff - I think it's very exciting to have a change of govt. and hopefully it's for the best!

Kruddy's best policy in my opinion is to not build any nuclear power plants. If countries like Sweden are getting rid of their nuclear power plants and opting for other sources of energy, then I say why should Aus take a backwards step?!? Let's just sell all our uranium to other countries and leave them to deal with the wastes. Yeah!

I wonder if Kruddy's reason for actually wanting to live at the Lodge is so he can discreetly escape to Fyshie???  : D
